These seats boost children up to ensure a correct seat belt fit. Every booster seat and vehicle is different, so it’s important to follow all instructions carefully. Make sure the booster seat fits flat on the vehicle seat. If the seat comes with seat belt guides, use them to achieve good belt positioning.Even if the child is not present, booster seats should be secured in the vehicle at all times. When not buckled in place, the booster seat can be tossed around the vehicle causing injury to vehicle occupants during a crash or sudden stop. We had a similar struggle in many of them, a 2010 Odyssey included: the vehicle seat belt’s buckle hit the belt path in an awkward position. To alleviate this challenge, we twisted the female portion of the buckle 1-3 turns before buckling the seat belt. This solution worked well in vehicles with longer, flexible buckle stalks.http://www.domykultury.waw.pl/userfiles/cambridge-soundworks-200-manual.xml

cosco booster car seat installation, cosco booster car seat instructions, cosco highback booster car seat manual, cosco pronto booster car seat manual, cosco topside booster car seat manual, cosco rightway booster car seat manual, cosco rise booster car seat instructions, cosco child car seat manual, cosco highback booster car seat pollyanna manual, cosco finale 2-in-1 booster car seat manual, 1.0, cosco booster car seat installation, cosco booster car seat instructions, cosco highback booster car seat manual, cosco pronto booster car seat manual, cosco topside booster car seat manual, cosco rightway booster car seat manual, cosco rise booster car seat instructions, cosco child car seat manual, cosco highback booster car seat pollyanna manual, cosco finale 2-in-1 booster car seat manual.

Installing the Finale in vehicles with a tall rigid belt stalk or recessed buckle stalks may be difficult. Lower Anchors The Finale’s lower anchor weight limit is 50 pounds. This means that when installing the Finale for children who weigh less than 50 pounds, either the vehicle seat belt or the lower anchors can be used (but not both!). Here are the guidelines: Children who weigh 50 pounds or less: vehicle seat belt plus top tether OR lower anchors plus top tether Children who weigh 50 pounds or more: vehicle seat belt plus top tether only The top tether is a critical step of the harness mode installation. The manual requires the top tether always be used when the Finale is installed in harnessed mode. Challenges with the Lower Anchors Cosco Finale lower anchors The lower anchor webbing isn’t threaded through the belt path when the seat ships so there’s a little assembly required. We found that the lower anchor webbing is fairly short and attached to the seat on the underside of the seat’s shell, kind of far from the lower anchor belt path. This placement can make one side of the webbing seem tight while the other side seems loose. We spent a rather lengthy amount of time working through this issue and discovered the solution. Cosco Finale lower anchors on right side of belt path To set up the seat for use, thread the lower anchor webbing through the belt path. Leave the adjuster on the child’s right side — this is the same side as where the webbing attaches. This evens out the tension across both lower anchors. Feline Assessment Cosco Finale: hit with the feline set Sometimes in the course of writing reviews, our pets get involved in the process. Review cat Max found the Finale a fantastic place to take a rest. Fit to Child: Harnessed Mode We’re pleased to see that the minimum weight for the Finale is 30 pounds.http://www.alexcars.cz/userfiles/file/cambridge-dtt3500-manual.xml

This should help keep the smallest of passengers riding in a rear facing car seat until they’re ready to move to a forward facing car seat — ideally around 4 years old. The lowest harness slot worked well for our model who meets the minimum height and weight requirements for the seat. There is a single crotch buckle setting. This might cause little ones using the seat to slide forward a bit but offers room to fit for bigger kids. We’d suggest verifying that children on the smaller side don’t slide around when buckled in before using the Finale for those children. The harness seems a little short for a seat with a 65 pound weight limit. Children who are at the upper end of the weight limit may not have enough length in the harness for a comfortable fit. 4 Years Old Cosco Finale 4 years old This young model is 4 years old. He weighs 40 pounds and is 43 inches tall. The Finale fits him well and he’s got plenty of room to grow. We do advocate that children ride rear facing as long as possible, ideally until they’re around 4 years old. We were pleased to see that the Finale offered a good harness fit for this model, who just recently started riding forward facing full time. 5 Years Old Cosco Finale 5 years old This model is 5 years old. She weighs 40 pounds and is 44 inches tall. The Finale has three harness height positions. This model can comfortably use the middle setting for a short while. In the third position, the harness is above her shoulders and would provide her with probably a year or more of room to grow. While she easily buckled the seat on her own, she could not undo the crotch buckle without assistance. She found the seat comfortable and was particularly pleased that she could choose which side to install the cup holder on. 7 Years Old Cosco Finale 7 years old This model is 7 years old. She weighs 45 pounds and is 46 inches tall.

She rides in a booster seat most of the time but is happy to help us show how the Finale fits children who are at the upper end of the harnessed mode for this seat. She has a small amount of room above her shoulders to grow. Since this seat has a 49 inch upper height limit for the harness, she may outgrow the harness at about the same time that she hits that 49 inch limit. She found the shoulder straps to be set a bit more narrowly than she liked. The harness of this seat may be too close set for some older and larger Littles. Converting to Booster Mode To convert the Finale from harness to booster mode, remove the seat from the vehicle and flip it over to access the back. Remove both sides of the harness loops from the splitter plate, then remove one buckle tongue and the piece of the chest clip on the same side. Slide the harness out of the slot at the hip, then pull the entire harness out. Remove the crotch buckle, then store the harness and crotch buckle in a safe place. We advocate that children be at least 5 years old before converting from a harnessed car seat to a booster seat. The lower anchors cannot be used to secure the Finale to the vehicle in booster mode, it must be buckled in when not in use. Shoulder Belt Guide Cosco Finale shoulder belt guide The manual states that the Finale can be used in high back booster mode with or without the belt guide, whichever gives a better fit on the child. We’re grateful to see this option because we encountered a bit of trouble with the belt guide. The belt guide itself was tricky to use — the shoulder belt did not retract through the belt guide, so a caregiver would have to thread the seat belt back into the retractor each time the child uses the seat. For a child of safe booster age, this could be a frustrating situation for both the caregiver and the child.

The safety risk when a vehicle seat belt doesn’t retract is that the child would leave the belt loose and prevent the seat belt from securing the child properly in the event of a crash. Without the belt guide, the seat belt fit most of our models well but it didn’t always lie directly on the child’s shoulder. Sometimes it hovered just in front of the child a bit. While this isn’t a safety concern if the belt is still close to the child, having the belt not slide easily in and out of the retractor can make staying in the correct seating position a challenge for booster riders. Fit to Child: Booster Mode 5 Years Old Cosco Finale 5 years old booster mode At 5 years old, 44 inches, and 40 pounds, this model is just a hair over both the height and weight minimums for booster use. She’s kindly showing how the smallest allowable model will fit in this seat. Since the manual says the belt guide is optional, we tested the Finale for her in booster mode both with and without the vehicle seat in the belt guide. The shoulder portion of the vehicle seat belt did not contact her shoulder without the belt guide, so we tried threading the vehicle seat belt through the belt guide. Unfortunately, when we put the vehicle seat belt through the belt guide, the shoulder portion of the seat belt landed in the middle of her neck, which she found very uncomfortable. The lap belt hit her low on her hips, contacting her thighs, but at the armrests the lap belt bunched a bit. We recommend using the harnessed portion of a combination car seat until it is outgrown and the child is at least 5 to 6 years old. In this case, the booster fit is so awkward that we would certainly suggest she get a bit closer to outgrowing the harness before transitioning to a booster seat.Another challenge she faced when using this seat in booster mode was with buckling herself into the seat. She wasn’t able to buckle the seat herself and found the belt guide too difficult to thread on her own.

If this were her full-time seat she would need parental help to buckle every time she got in the car. 7 Years Old Cosco Finale 7 years old booster mode Our 7 year old model weighs 45 pounds and is 46 inches tall. Like our 5 year old model, she also had trouble threading the vehicle seat belt through the shoulder belt guide without adult assistance. She was rather frustrated because she’s used to being able to independently buckle herself in. Cosco Finale 7 years old booster mode Without the seat belt in the belt guide, the shoulder belt hovered in front of her body. The guide did move the belt to a more appropriate part of her shoulder, but the vehicle seat belt still did not make full contact with her collarbone. Unfortunately, while the lap belt fit was good, the shoulder belt fit was not. 7.5 Years Old Cosco Finale 7.5 years old booster mode This model weighs 62 pounds and is 50 inches tall. At that height, she’s at the top end of the height range for booster mode. When I set the Finale up in my car, she climbed right in and told me it’s her new favorite booster!Like our other booster models, this kiddo had a hard time getting the vehicle seat belt to retract in the shoulder belt guide. We found that pulling it out of the guide worked well and she had a great belt fit without the guide being threaded. This Finale fits this model better than our other, smaller booster models so we’re seeing that the booster belt fit varies from child to child. Travel Weighing in at a seemingly unreal weight of just 8 pounds, the Finale would be a great option for airplane travel. It’s approved for use on aircraft in harness mode. Like all booster seats, it’s not approved for air travel without the harness since airplanes only have lap belts and booster seats require a lap and shoulder belt. Important Information: Where to Find Manual Storage Cosco Finale manual storage The manual stores on the back of the seat’s shell above the top harness slot.

Date of Manufacture and Expiration Cosco Finale date of manufacture The Finale has a 10 year expiration. The date of manufacture label is located on the label on the back of the seat’s shell. Cosco Finale date of manufacture stamp It’s also stamped into the seat’s shell. FAA Approval Cosco Finale FAA approval The FAA approval label is on the shell of the seat, right behind the child’s right shoulder. It’s approved for use in harnessed mode on aircraft, but not in booster mode since booster seats require a lap and shoulder belt and airplanes have lap only belts. The Finale shines in harnessed mode but falls a bit short in booster mode. This is a compromise that we can live with. We’d suggest that families who use the Finale focus on using it in harnessed mode, then consider a different booster option when it’s outgrown in harnessed mode. Despite the limitations and challenges of booster mode, we could not be more thrilled to see the Finale on store shelves. Huge Milestone! Great Giveaway! Sydney 5.0 out of 5 stars Checked out by the doctor and he didn’t have a single injury. This car seat worked when I needed it to, bought the same one to replace it.Sure enough, after two weeks of use, a plastic piece near the harness tightening strap broke off as I was securing my child in the seat. He's a small five-year-old, so I liked the idea of a harness that could grow into a booster seat as he got a little bigger. This is going back, and I will be purchasing another brand to replace it. If pieces break just from tightening the belt, I shudder to think how this might hold up in the event of an actual crash. The arm does have to be up but it just barely encroaches over the armrest limit. I attached it to my carry on to roll it through the airport with a VolkGo Carseat Travel Belt. Had to detach to get through security but it was easy enough. Rolled it down to the plane then detached again and held it over my head to walk down the isle with it. This is where it being super light was awesome. (I am 5'1 so the seat fit over my head fine with room to spare) I was able to use the seatbelt to buckle, and used a folded washcloth over the buckle so it didnt press too much into my toddler's back. He didn't complain. This is only an issue in the plane with their lap belts that clip in the center. No issues with latch or seatbelt install in any of the rental cars. He found it comfortable enough to sleep in.

Our normal seat is an extend2fit that we use rf, and he never complained about this seat, nor when we went back to his normal seat. I highly reccomend it for travel!I have 4 children so I’ve been through my fair share of car seat and this one has some pros but those to me are out weighed by the cons. Cons: Durability, after using this seat daily for 2 weeks the fabric already had a tear. After 2 weeks! That’s crazy. Quality, the seat itself seems to be made of almost completely plastic. That doesn’t make me feel like I’m truly protecting my kids. Pros: Lightweight and slim size. It is very light and easy to fit into most situations where a car seat is needed including airplanes. Cup holder, my kids loved having someone to store their things. Easy install, the straps were very easy to work with. I have had some seats where you need to catch your breath, drink some water and wipe your sweat after installing it in the car. Overall if you are planning on using this as a secondary seat for travel or for a grand parent, aunt, or uncle’s car go for it but if you want this to be your child’s everyday seat go for something with a little more quality. It is the one safety measure that could very likely save your child’s life after all.So when I got this, I couldn't believe how light it was. The entire plastic seat mold is light. The padding is light. The seat is also narrow and can fit 3 to a row in most vehicles. For sure I thought this can't be as comfortable as our other seats. But guess what, none of the kids complained. They actually fought over who got to sit in it. And it is approved for use so it has met standards with regard to safety. Keep in mind this is a booster carseat--meaning that you can still use this when your child graduates to using the car's safety belt and stops using the 5 point harness. It is not a toddler convertible carseat so it does not rear-face and has no recline. If you need rear-facing or recline, this is not for you. I'm really shocked.

Sure there are not a lot of fancy bells and whistles but for a standard, safe, comfortable seat, that has some thoughtfully designed elements (love that cupholder), you really cannot beat the price and value. We have two of these set up in Grandma's car.I have a 2010 Corolla and was pretty sure we'd need another big vehicle to allow 3 carseats (2 boosters and an infant carseat). I researched like crazy, these had great reviews for the price, and lo and behold.they fit. It is snug, for sure. But they fit and I could secure each seat very tightly and safely. I can't decide if I'll have baby in middle or on the side, but both arrangements fit. So relieved! Sidenote: also love the fact that you can use the 5 point harness until 65 lbs. We will assess what to do when our 5 year old (40 lbs currently) gets to that point and would need to buckle in. Buckling in would be very challenging. 5 point harness was necessary for this to fit.I highly recommend if you fly often, Uber a lot or have to change cars frequently.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. The padded Cosco seat is held in place by the vehicle's seat belts, with two clips that attach to the latch anchors under the back seat. Proper installation of a Cosco car seat is vital for the seat to provide effective protection for your child. Follow these steps to install the Cosco seat straps correctly. Proper Placement The Cosco child safety seat should be placed in the center of the back seat of your car. This creates a buffer around the car seat and gives you a clearer line of sight from the rear-view mirror when you need to check on the child while driving. Infant seats must be installed facing rearward. Children at least 1 year old and weighing 20 pounds or more can ride facing forward. Connecting the Straps Slip your hand between the seat and backrest of your car in the center seat to locate the two steel latch anchors. These are shaped like a wide U. Underneath the Cosco car seat are two webbed straps with steel spring clips on each end. The clips hook onto the latch anchors by placing the hook over the latch and pressing down until it clamps into place.

This is probably the hardest step to connecting a Cosco car seat because it is difficult to see the latch anchors unless you press down on the seat and point a flashlight inside. You may have to feel around for a moment before locating the latch and getting the clip on the end of the safety seat belt aligned properly. Pull the center seat belt forward in the rear seat of the car and grab the belt webbing. The belt slips through the loops on the back of the Cosco seat to hold it against the back seat of the car. Click the seat belt into the buckle and let the belt retract as far as possible back into the holder. Tightening and Adjusting the Cosco Seat Each webbed belt clamped to the latch anchor has an adjust clip to tighten the belt. Press down on the belt release button and grab the free end of the webbed belt, pulling it as tightly as possible. You can take up slack in the car's center seat belt by pressing down with both hands on the center of the Cosco seat so the car safety belt retracts as far as possible. Once the center belt is as tight as you can make it, you will need to install the belt-retainer clip that comes with the Cosco safety seat. This clip is shaped roughly like the letter H and slips onto the center seat belt behind the Cosco car seat where the seat belt is inserted through the loops. Install the retainer clip by placing one edge of the seat belt through the top part of the H, then sliding the other edge of the seatbelt into the other side of the clip. The retainer clip should rest snugly against the back of the Cosco seat to prevent the center seat belt from pulling out. Once the retainer clip is in place, pull on the Cosco seat to check for excessive movement or play. The seat should fit securely against the back of the car seat.

References Child safety seat inspection station locator Cosco safety seat selection guide About the Author This article was written by the It Still Works team, copy edited and fact checked through a multi-point auditing system, in efforts to ensure our readers only receive the best information. Cosco’s instructions indicate it is for kids at least 1 year old, although we would generally recommend at least age two because it does not rear-face. It can also be used as a highback booster for kids who weigh more than 40 lbs. Reasonably tall top harness slots should allow most children to be harnessed until age 5-6 forward facing, until around 50 lbs, maybe heavier for some kids. Some children will outgrow it by height sooner. The head rest is non-adjustable. You will need another booster seat after the Finale is outgrown at approximately age 6-7 based on your child’s height.

Just don’t expect them to use this seat very long in booster mode; you will definitely still need another booster after this seat is outgrown. You can install the Finale with LATCH up to a child weight limit of 50 lbs. If installing with LATCH isn’t an option, then you must read your vehicle owner’s manual to determine how your seatbelts lock in order to properly install this carseat with seatbelt. The Cosco Finale is FAA-approved for aircraft use. Given its light weight and low cost, it will definitely be considered for our list of recommended seats for airplane travel. One of them has eczema which flares up behind her knees. Please let me know what the fabric used is made of. Thank you. Just curious. All their other seats except the APT 50 (which also has a 50 lb LATCH limit) have 40 lb limits. They probably didn’t want too many different limits out there. This is just a guess of course, but it does make things simpler. Learn how your comment data is processed. These are the rules you must follow to restrain your children safely.
